On June 30, 2025, San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) Superintendent Dr. Maria Su announced a comprehensive plan for the district's Ethnic Studies curriculum beginning in the 2025-26 school year. The plan is designed to support strong student outcomes in the upcoming school year and build on the district’s ongoing efforts to ensure stability and improvement.

Ethnic Studies Office Hours Link to this section
SFUSD is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for the community to engage in the new Ethnic Studies curriculum. To ensure that we are managing staff and event capacity, we will be prioritizing SFUSD students, families, and staff, particularly those with 9th grade students in the 2025-2026 school year, who have expressed interest through the RSVP process.
If you are interested in participating in office hours to learn more about the new Ethnic Studies curriculum, please fill the Office Hours RSVP Form and SFUSD will follow up with you to confirm your reservation for a 30 minute in-person appointment.
Office Hours will be held starting on Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 15.
The schedule is as follows:
- August 4 - 8; 9am - 1pm
- August 11 - 15; 9am - 1pm
SFUSD staff will do our best to accommodate your needs. Be informed that office hours requests will be assigned in the order we receive them.
Each session will be held in person at the Curriculum & Instruction Office, located at 750 25th Ave. San Francisco, CA 94121. Please note only street parking is available, and we encourage the use of public transportation.
