All parents or guardians of children attending SFUSD schools are eligible to join the advisory council.

The council serves as a vital communication link, providing information to participating parents about important issues. It facilitates discussions among parents, enabling them to bring questions, concerns, and ideas to the attention of school staff, administration, and other stakeholders.

Comprising parents or guardians of children enrolled in SFUSD schools, this group works collaboratively to develop effective solutions to various issues impacting our school community.

An Advisory Group is important because it empowers parents to stay informed about issues affecting their children’s education. By consulting with one another, parents can collectively voice their questions, concerns, and suggestions to school staff and administration, ensuring that their perspectives are heard and considered in decision-making processes.

Note: "Mātua" means "parents" in many Pacific Island languages, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of our community.
