Our Fall Festival is back this year on Monday October 31st! Our parade will begin at 10:30 AM. We will walk along Polk Street from Jackson to Broadway, before making our way back to campus for a festival full of games, food, and fun! There may even be a surprise! We hope to see you there!
Overlapping Standards in Math, Science and Language Arts. Tina Cheuk, formerly with the Understanding Language department at Stanford University created a very useful graphic organizer to show that the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) have significant overlap and can be collectively implemented for students’ benefit. The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for Special Education is holding a question and answer session with candidates running for the Board of Education on Oct. 27.
On Oct. 15, 2022, the San Francisco Board of Education took part in a 6-hour workshop to update our draft vision, values, goals, and guardrails; these components will serve as the district’s compass for the next five years. We anticipate approving the final versions at our Oct. 25 board meeting.
SFUSD is seeking family and community input for PK-5 Language Arts Core curricular materials. Learn more about the adoption process and how to provide input. The next focus group meets on Nov. 29.
