- Ruth Asawa School of the Arts is a public high School in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
- All students who audition, no matter what their experience or arts background, are considered for placement at Ruth Asawa SOTA.
- Students must live in San Francisco to apply.
- Students apply to SFUSD with SOTA listed as a priority school in order of preference.
- Students must complete an application, audition assignment, and audition to qualify.
- Students audition to qualify in a single art department and continue in that department for four years.
- We offer programing in 16 art departments/strands.
- Students are required to rehearse/perform outside school hours.
- There are about 250 spots for incoming 9th grade students.
- Incoming 10th, 11th, 12th grade students are considered if space is available.
