Phase 2A - Priority Groups
In the spring and summer, SFUSD engaged a diverse sets of stakeholders through working groups, town halls, and surveys to get input on which groups to prioritize for in-person learning. Across all groups (families, teachers, school leaders, labor partners, etc), the student groups shown below were named as priority for in-person learning.

For priority groups in Phase 2A:
- PK/Early Ed Students = 996 students
- Elementary SDC Moderate/Severe = about 702 students
- TK - 2nd = 12,772 students
- County = 102 students
- Secondary SDC Moderate/Severe = 427 students
- Grades 3rd-5th
- 3rd grade = 4188 students
- 4th grade = 4295 students
- 5th grade = 4010 students

Under Phase 2A, SFUSD is preparing for a gradual return for a small cohort of students focusing first on the District’s youngest students (early elementary) and students with disabilities in moderate/severe special day classes.
