This project reimagines the entire schoolyard of Visitacion Valley Middle School, adding a variety of shade, stormwater management, and bioretention features, in addition to outdoor classroom and play area improvements. It is funded by the Bond Program, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and CAL Fire, and was designed with input from school staff, students, and community members. The new yard will include a turf soccer field and track, an outdoor kitchen, gardens and nature areas, an amphitheater, and refreshed striping for a range of sports and activities.
