Lakeshore Alternative Elementary School

Lakeshore truly represents the diversity of San Francisco. Located directly across the street from Lake Merced, our students and families are able to appreciate the beauty and charm of the area in an urban district. Lowell High School and San Francisco State University are our neighboring schools, with whom we work closely to expand opportunities to ensure all students are academically, socially and emotionally prepared for middle school and beyond.

Lafayette Elementary School

Lafayette School provides a comprehensive curriculum that stresses academic excellence for our diverse student population. We are a neighborhood school in the Outer Richmond area serving the community since 1927. In addition to general education students, there are students representing 23 language groups as well as students with special needs. We are also one of the magnet schools for pre-k through fifth grade hearing impaired students.

Francisco Middle School

Francisco Middle School, located in the heart of the Chinatown-North Beach community, has a rich tradition of delivering a strong academic curriculum to our diverse student population. We involve our students in meaningful school experiences that promote the joy of learning while addressing students' individual needs. Our school believes that all students should have access to an appropriate and quality education that prepares them to be high functioning members of the community.

El Dorado Elementary School

El Dorado is a diverse school where teachers, staff, and parents come together to ensure the achievement of all students. El Dorado's focus is the creation of an environment that promotes teaching the whole child. The school invests its energies in programs that meet the academic and social needs of all students and uses standards-based instructional practices like Balanced Literacy. We believe in empowering teachers by creating a trusting, nurturing, and professional environment that allows them to think critically and create out of the box solutions for our community.

Edwin and Anita Lee Newcomer School 李孟賢伉儷新移民學校

Edwin and Anita Lee Newcomer School (formerly the Chinese Education Center) is a school for Chinese-speaking, newly-arrived immigrant students. It is a transitional, one-year program designed to teach foundational English skills in reading, writing, and oral English language development. In addition, basic skills, protocols, and understanding in all CORE subject areas are explicitly taught to address the gap that typically results from students having been raised in a very different educational system.

Downtown High School

Downtown High School offers project-based learning that emphasizes critical thinking skills across curricular areas and a strong connection with the School-to-Career Program. We focus on each learner's need for alternative strategies and are rooted in the commitment to student mastery of the core curriculum. With a project-based approach to learning, students have the opportunity to select a project that matches their own interests and learning styles.

John Yehall Chin Elementary School

John Yehall Chin parents love our small, welcoming school and the well-rounded education we provide their students. Being efficient and productive are the two attributes that we treasure the most here. We fully realize and accept without angst the importance of state mandated assessments.
