About Mentoring for Success

One-to-One Mentoring

• The program matches adults with students who meet weekly for an hour a week
• Students are referred to the mentor program by school staff. Students are invited to participate and parent/guardian consent is required.
• All mentors are background screened and provided with an Orientation prior to beginning.
• Each school site has a Mentor Program Site Coordinator who manages all aspect of the program to support mentors and student mentees.
• Mentors engage in a variety of asset building activities with students on school grounds. The Site Coordinator has ideas for activities and games.
• Group activities are facilitated to engage students and their mentors in leadership development, team building activities, and community service are held during the school year.

Project Arrive Group Mentoring

A group mentoring program that matches incoming 6th and 9th grade students who have had barriers to success in 5th or 8th grade are invited to join Project Arrive. Students meet regularly in a small group to get them connected to school and to plan for middle or high school success
