Green Academy Overview

ABOUT

The Green Academy started when several students noticed that what they were learning in Economics class often overlapped with what they were learning in Environmental Science! Started in 2010, the Green Academy strives to teach students to discover and implement new solutions to environmental issues. Students also participate in outdoor educational challenges to develop confidence and leadership skills. Please check back often as we continue to update our page and bring you exciting Green Academy news!

GREEN ACADEMY ELECTIVE COURSES

In your sophomore year you will take the Green Ambassadors elective, a project-based course that includes a number of field trips across San Francisco and earns you College Career credit! Green Engineering in junior year offers students a real world opportunity to discover and understand principles of physics, engineering, design and green-clean technologies. The hands-on class will include everything from building electric cars, wind farms, solar ovens and much much more! Both courses are UC A-G  transferable and look great on a college transcript.

ALHS Green Academy Wins Big!

For the fourth year in a row the GA Class of 2017 won at the Generation Citizen Awards ceremony. The seniors were awarded the "Change Maker" Award  for their project attacking the issue of air pollution in San Francisco.
