About the Garden

With more than 1,200 students in grades 6-8, APG boasts a 15,000-square-foot garden with 17 vegetable beds, a California native plant area, chickens, a top bar honey beehive, a rainwater catchment system, a food forest with young fruit trees, an outdoor kitchen, a small greenhouse and a sound garden.

Volunteer Opportunities

School may be virtual, but the APG garden is still growing! We need volunteers to help with weeding and watering to keep it alive until the students can return to enjoy it. You can come in on your own time, as often or as occasionally as you like. Email emmasmithsf@yahoo.com to be part of the team!

The chickens need our help, too! Email amcgowen@bacr.org to join the chicken care team and sign up for shifts. This is a fun and rewarding volunteer job for kids!
