Special Day Class (SDC) In Person Learning Information

Dear Parent/Guardian,

You are receiving this message because your child will be returning to in-person learning on Monday 4/26. Here is what you need to know:

First day of in-person learning: 4/26

Last day: 6/2

Start time: 9:30 AM

End Time: 3:30 PM

Location: Burton High School, 400 Mansell St. (not far from MLK)

Days of the week: Mon-Fri

Items you will need to bring: Face mask, Laptop, headphones, water bottle, and a sweater/jacket (masks, water bottles, and technology will be provided if you don’t have one, but bring your own if you have it).

Food: Breakfast and lunch will be provided in the classroom.

 

Other information:

Although MLK students will be at Burton High School, MLK students will only be interacting with MLK students during the school day. 

Ms. Kayla, the SDC teacher, will be teaching the students in-person. There will also be another Special Education teacher (Ms. Jacobs) to provide SDC Math for students who are enrolled in that class. For students who take General Education classes during the school day, they will access those classes virtually from their classroom.

 

Important safety information:

All students must go through a COVID health screening before entering the building. No students are allowed in the building before 9:15. You will be in a class with 14 total students and 2 adults. Social distancing must be practiced at all times (at least 4 feet apart). Due to COVID safety protocols, students and adults cannot interact with students and adults from other classes. At no other time can any person from one class go into or mix with another class. Also, masks must be worn at all times. 

These are strict safety protocols, and if students that choose not to follow them, will not be able to participate in the in-person learning program, and will be sent home. Please help keep everyone and our families safe by following all safety protocols.

Otra información:
