Ruth Asawa School of the Arts is a public high School in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
All students who audition, no matter what their experience or arts background, are considered for placement at Ruth Asawa SOTA.
We offer programing in 9 art departments, with 10 strands.
Students must complete an application, audition assignment, and audition to qualify. Link to this section
Students audition to qualify in a single art department and continue in that department for four years.
Students are required to rehearse/perform outside school hours. Link to this section
Students apply to SFUSD with SOTA listed as a priority school in order of preference.
There are about 200 spots for incoming 9th grade students.
Incoming 10th, 11th, 12th grade students are considered if space is available. Link to this section
Students must live in San Francisco to apply.
