Creative Writing students share a passion for writing. They write from imagination and experience, alone and collaboratively, across genres and contexts. They enter the Creative Writing Department with fresh, raw voices, and leave with their skills refined and their originality intact.
The four-year program introduces young writers to a variety of instructors and teaching styles, focusing on three core areas: poetry, fiction, and playwriting.
Students in Spoken Arts will explore their creative voice(s) through poetry, dramatic and comedic performance, improvisation, rap, and public speaking. For those who wish to harness their skills in verbal dexterity and linguistic creativity, this track will give you a head start on your personal journey towards limitless possibilities.
