"Raising Health" The Bigger Picture Slam Club
"Raising Health" is the culminating event for Youth Speaks’ Fall 2020 Bigger Picture Slam Club, featuring young poets from the San Francisco Unified School District as well as guest presenters and community members, Ryane Daniels, Darius Simpson and Aniya Butler. About The Bigger Picture: The Bigger Picture is a collaborative project between Youth Speaks and UCSF’s Center for Vulnerable Populations that encourages young writers to use their voices to combat public health crises that threaten their communities. Bok Choy Harvest
Lincoln Nutrition Outreach Worker has an amazing at-home Bok Choy harvest from his seed kit project. Bok Choy is a great leafy green filled with Vitamin C and Vitamin K. Bok Choy is great for soups, salads, or stir fries!
Over this trying and historic year, the students in Mission High's Urban Agriculture program continued to show up and bring their best selves. The capstone project this year asked the question: How are you staying healthy in a time of covid? Here are the videos and podcasts that were completed this spring by these graduating seniors. Students Address Food Sustainability @ SF Farmers Markets
ABC7 highlights SFUSD students learning about food sustainability through a partnership between SFUSD and Center for Urban Education and Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA). The student were compensated for their work through stipends that were funded by the SF Soda Tax.
