1. ORDER DACA Records
To Be Eligible to Order DACA Records, you must meet ALL of these requirements:
- Born after June 15, 1981
- Born outside of the United States and came to the U.S. before 16th birthday
- Continuously resided in the United States since June 15, 2007
- Physically present in the U.S. on June 15, 2012, and at the time of applying
- Currently undocumented (as of June 15, 2012)
- Currently in school, have graduated or obtained a certificate of completion from high school, have obtained a general education development (GED) certificate, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States
- Have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety
If you meet all of these requirements above:
- Please email transcripts@sfusd.edu
- Attach any ONE of the following photo ID types for the student you are requesting records (school ID, passport, CA ID are all acceptable)
- Include the student's full name and
- date of birth in the email
- Please state in the email that this is a DACA request
2. ORDER Transcripts - Current SFUSD Students
This section is for students who are attending SFUSD PUBLIC Schools (see list below):
- For students attending charter / county schools, you MUST contact the school directly in order to get your unofficial or official transcript or records
- All current SFUSD 12th graders attending PUBLIC schools (see list below) will receive an email mid-MAY, with a registration code, to activate their Parchment accounts
- Final transcripts will be uploaded and stored there in JUNE
- You will be able to order / deliver / receive / track official final transcripts through your Parchment account
Unofficial Transcripts:
- Students can view their latest Unofficial Transcript in their StudentVUE
- Parents can also view their students' Unofficial Transcript in ParentVUE
- Questions regarding transcripts, and accessing unofficial ones, should be directed to your student's school counselor
Official Transcripts:
- The only time CURRENT SFUSD students need to request a transcript through our office is if a college, high school, or other organization has specifically asked you for an OFFICIAL transcript (which means it is signed, sealed, stamped, or delivered electronically directly from our office to the requesting school / organization)
- Email transcripts@sfusd.edu (emails are responded to within 1-2 business days)
- Include student's ID# (if you have it), date of birth, and full name as enrolled
- Use SFUSD email when making the request OR Attach photo ID of the student (school ID, CA ID, passport etc)
- Include the full name and mailing address (street, city, state, zip code) OR email address (must be a school or institution) of where you want the official transcript sent
- If ordering official transcripts to be mailed directly to the student or family, please include the number of copies you would like. Please allow 1-3 business days for these to be mailed.
Alternatively, high school students attending the PUBLIC high schools may use Parchment to order and pay for official transcripts and receive notifications on the status of those orders. Click on the links below to order.

4. WORK PERMITS
03/02/2021 UPDATE - Work Permits are now processed using our new and completely online system:
- For identity purposes, you must use your SFUSD student email address
- You will also need to input email addresses for your 1. parent / guardian and 2. supervisor / employer

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING WORK PERMITS:
- UPDATED RENEWAL PROCESS: if you are still working for the same employer at the time the work permit expires, you must submit a NEW application (you can no longer use a copy of your old work permit)
- CA Minor Work Hours
- We do not process Work Permits for any PRIVATE SCHOOLS or HOME-SCHOOLED students

5. ORDER High School Diploma Copy
SFUSD considers your transcript (not your diploma) to be THE official proof of graduation
- Diplomas are typically for personal / display use
- SFUSD offers two types of diploma copies that you can order
- Choose one or both once you are taken to the Parchment website through the school links below
1. Official Certified Diploma Copy
- Electronic - $15
- Mail - additional $2.75
- Receive in 1-3 days electronically (plus additional mailing time if paper copy ordered)
- This is a “plain” copy of your diploma
2. Ceremonial Diploma
- Mail delivery only - $25
- Diploma will arrive in the mail directly from Jostens in 6-12 weeks
- This is a “fancy” color copy on heavy paper with a gold seal, like the one you received when you graduated

- We can usually provide documentation that shows which schools you attended while in SFUSD, the years you attended, and the address(es) you lived at.
- Some records prior to 2014 do not have specific middle or elementary schools listed, or your addresses
- Most records prior to 1990 do not have specific elementary schools or addresses listed
- SFUSD now uses Parchment to process all Enrollment Records requests.

- SFUSD now uses Parchment to process all Graduation / Education Verification requests.
- Universities and colleges, or other 3rd parties, may request transcripts using the same links below; HOWEVER, for reduced cost, we recommend that the student or candidate order them directly using the “ORDER High School Transcripts - Former Students / Alumni” section above.
- The cost is $15.00 per request.
- You must upload the candidate’s signed Release of Records into Parchment.
- We accept Electronic Signatures.

8. School Transfer Records Requests
- If your student is transferring schools, please contact their school site, during the regular school year, to request records.
- During the Summer, you may email us for partial records (transcript / report card, enrollment and immunization records only). Email transcripts@sfusd.edu with: 1. picture of your photo ID attached to the email 2. your students’ names as enrolled 3. their dates of birth. We will email these records back to you, for you to forward to the new schools.
