CCEIS Educational Partners Meetings
CCEIS Plan Update
To date we have held Focus Groups, conducted a File Review, and collected quantitative data for the Success Summit on Saturday January 28th, 2023.
We held Educational Partners meetings and appreciate how so many folks joined to share their voices and ask their questions.
Our goal is to hear from SFUSD staff (certificated and classified), community based organizations (affiliated with SFUSD) AND Parent/Caregivers to share experiences, observations, and surface potential strategies to interrupt the over representation of AA/Black students in Special Education under emotional disturbance and other health impairment.

What is CCEIS?
Bottom line: too many Black/African American children are in Special Education, in comparison to their overall numbers in San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). As a result, the California Department of Education has sanctioned SFUSD, requiring that 15% of the Special Education budget be reallocated to support the work of CCEIS- Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services.
Our children are brilliant. Our goal is to interrupt the practices and beliefs that are leading to Black/African American students and their peers being over-identified for Special Education. Ultimately, we want to see our students thrive academically and social-emotionally, and live the life they dream of living.
