Hoover Middle School enjoys a reputation for academic, visual & performing arts excellence that spans over 50 years. Our staff works together to rededicate ourselves to this tradition, while also providing digital access to foster skills and programs that prepare our young people with the technological skills required of the 21st century. Ensuring access and equity for our families who have historically had the most difficulty integrating into our community is Hoover's priority.

A little VVMS/ Big Viz history and then some:

At Spring Valley Science, we provide a challenging, future-oriented education emphasizing science, critical thinking, communication and problem solving skills. All state standards are taught in our rigorous curriculum.

At Commodore Sloat, children learn by doing. Our experienced staff leads children to do more than find the right answers. We learn to pay attention to how we think as well. As a high-performing school, our dedicated staff knows how to support students in reaching higher levels of academic performance. Beyond academics, we design and deliver instruction that teaches students how to discern the difference between right and wrong, how to form evidence-based conclusions, and how to become citizens in a rapidly-changing and complex world.

Sheridan Elementary School is located in the Oceanview Merced Ingleside District. We serve students in preschool as well as Kindergarten through 5th grade. At Sheridan, we meet the needs of each individual child and aim to provide an inclusive and psychologically safe environment where all students excel, regardless of race or economic status. Sheridan school community believes in high expectations and an outcome of success for all students.

At John Muir School (home of the Bobcat Scholars) we consider families to be the first teachers of their children and our motto at John Muir is:  “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work.” 

HMCRA is a small public school in the Castro that is named after the neighborhood’s most famous persona, Harvey Milk.

Claire Lilienthal is a California Distinguished school with a mission to inspire each student to achieve their maximum potential in an academically, culturally, and socially inclusive environment. Lilienthal was founded on the ideals of equity, academic excellence, and parent partnership. These ideals continue to undergird the work we do today.
