SFUSD Climate Action

Looking for K-5 teachers to pilot a 3-lesson sequence of new Watershed Curriculum in partnership with SFPUC!

Would you like to weave in real-life learning about San Francisco’s urban watershed system into your existing curriculum? This is an opportunity to pilot a new watershed curriculum designed for grades K-12. We are looking for 18 K-5 teachers to pilot lessons and provide constructive feedback.

Application deadline: October 31, 2026

Commitment & Compensation:

• 1.5 hour Virtual Meeting:  
  • Grades K-2: December 2, 2026, 4:15 - 5:15P
  • Grades 3-5: December 3, 2026, 4:15 - 5:15P

• 3 hours lesson preparation (Dec/Jan)

• 3 hours piloting lessons with notes submitted through an online asynchronous feedback form (Jan/Feb)

• 1.5 hour Virtual Feedback Meeting

  • Grades K-2: February 24, 2027, 4:15 - 5:15P

  • Grades 3-5: February 25, 2027, 4:15 - 5:15P

TOTAL: 9 Extended Hours

 Participants will:

• Design and implement individual or group CLIMATE ACTION PROJECTS in the pursuit of climate justice
• Increase climate literacy through interactive workshops hosted by experts in multiple fields
• Develop friendships with changemakers at SFUSD high schools
• Cultivate skills to reduce the climate anxiety that many of us feel
• Meet professionals across a range of climate-related career paths
• Attend in-person and virtual workshops (see schedule below)
• Attend monthly virtual coaching meetings to support their Climate Action Projects
• Earn up to $1500 in Fellowship Awards
• Serve on SFUSD’s Student Climate Advisory Board to participate and provide feedback to city agencies and SFUSD in climate-related policy, programming, and design
