Originally posted on Jan. 5, 2026: SFUSD has released preliminary school budget allocations based on expected enrollment and specific needs of students at each school, with opportunities for families and staff to provide input through each school's budget planning process.

Families, students, and staff will not be able to access Synergy, ParentVUE and StudentVUE respectively during this maintenance window.

Monthly automated Truancy letters will be posted to Synergy on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. Families and schools can ensure that attendance data is correct and complete by following this guidance.

Save the Date! Come to the Summer Resource Fair on Feb. 21. The Summer Resource Fair is a free event featuring representatives from 100 summer programs, camps, and services for youth in grades K-8. No registration or ticket is required to attend the Summer Resource Fair.

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) California Public Health Association-North (CPHA-N) presents the annual Give Kids a Smile event on Saturday, March 7, 2026, offering free dental care to children aged 3–17. No appointments required.

Over the past two months, we held a series of budget town halls across the district to hear directly from families about their priorities and concerns. We’ve also had discussions with parents, principals, educators, and the school board. We heard loud and clear that we need to center student learning, support, and safety in all of our decisions.

SFUSD schools will be closed from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 for Winter Break. Schools will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. SFUSD offices, including the Enrollment Center, will also be closed for in-person services from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2.

The weekly Family Announcements Bulletin (FAB) will be on Winter Break starting Dec. 22, 2025. FAB will resume on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2026.

The San Francisco Board of Education invites community members to participate in an upcoming session of its Ad Hoc Committee on Community Engagement, a newly formed committee focused on strengthening how the Board engages with the community.

San Francisco CalFresh recipients received a letter from the San Francisco Health Services Agency (SFHSA) with information about a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card from GiveCard to help buy food during the government shutdown. Activate their grocery card by December 31, 2025.

Start some new classes in the new year! New Conservatory Theatre Center workshops allow young people to explore drama in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. Using ensemble-based games and skill-building exercises, our highly trained teaching artists give each student a chance to shine.

Inclusive Schools Week is a disability forward event that celebrates difference and promotes sense of belonging at all of our school sites. This year's theme is "Children First: Building a Stronger Tomorrow."
