Information for Student Teachers

This page is for student teachers enrolled in a university or teacher preparation program who plan to complete their student teaching in the San Francisco Unified School District. Your first step is to confirm that your university has an active MOU with SFUSD. Below is the list of programs with active MOUs for the 2025–26 school year.

• Alliant International University
• CalStateTEACH
• CSU, East Bay
• Dominican University of California
• Notre Dame de Namur University
• Saint Mary's College of CA
• San Francisco State University
• San Jose State University
• University of La Verne
• University of San Francisco
• University of the Pacific
• Western Governors University

These universities’ MOUs are in process. Student teachers cannot start until the MOU has been completed.

If your university already has an active MOU, let your placement supervisor or coordinator know that you want a placement in SFUSD. If your university does not have an active MOU, your placement supervisor must contact studentteacher@sfusd.edu to begin the MOU process with the district.
