On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Enrollment Center at 555 Franklin Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for staff professional development training. The office will reopen at 1 p.m. that day.

A recently passed Senate Bill is requiring a once per year child abuse/neglect prevention training for volunteers who interact with student while outside of direct supervision of a parent/guardian or school employee.

Advocate for the needs of LGBTQ+ SFUSD students!

Join us virtually on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 6pm - 7:30pm for a panel and workshop on building a strong English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) together. Learn from Parent leaders, Family Liaisons and Community School Coordinators about how ELACs are organized and supported at their school sites.

SFUSD and Paradigm Healthcare Services will communicate with families about health and mental health service programming, student records, and health insurance information. Parents/guardians will receive targeted outreach for consent and health insurance.

Monthly automated truancy letters will be posted to Synergy on Friday, September 11. Please ensure that attendance data is correct and complete by the end of the day Thursday, September 10 to assure the accuracy of the truancy letters.

The National Weather Service is predicting warmer temperatures in San Francisco from Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Wednesday, Sept. 9, with a Moderate (Level 2) risk of heat-related impacts. SFUSD is taking extra steps to help keep students and staff safe and comfortable during this time.

Families can now download the new ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. While older versions of the app will still be functional, they will be retired soon.

After school is just the beginning. At Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, young people ages 6–18 discover new interests, build lasting friendships, and gain the skills and confidence to succeed—in school and in life.

The SF Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. Public open session begins at 6:30 p.m.

All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day.

SFUSD’s 2026-27 Climate Action Student Fellowship applications are open to SFUSD high school students, thanks to our partnership with the SF Public Utilities Commission.

SFUSD is a partner with Sandy Hook Promise. As part of this partnership, SFUSD uses the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS). The system provides a safe and secure way for students and concerned adults to share information about potential threats or warning signs of someone who may be at risk of harming themselves or others.
