Registration is available for the San Francisco Math Circle's Spring 2026 term! The SF Math Circle is an extracurricular math enrichment program affiliated with San Francisco State University's Center for Science and Math Education. This spring, we're offering weekly in-person classes for 2nd-5th grade students at San Francisco State University starting the week of February 23.

On behalf of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), who is leading the Embarcadero Connectivity Plan, are forming a Community Working Group (CWG) of 10–15 community representatives to help guide the planning process. The CWG will serve as a collaborative forum for community consultation on key deliverables and strategies that shape the plan’s development and future implementation. Online, application deadline is Dec. 17th, ongoing.

The SF Board of Education Ad Hoc Committee on Progress Monitoring will meet on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025. Meeting begins at 6 p.m.

SFUSD is providing an update on the recent United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) strike authorization vote and reaffirming our commitment to negotiating with our labor partners in good faith.

Bring the whole family to the 3rd Annual Winter Literacy, Math & Science Fair this Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 11AM to 2PM at César Chávez Elementary School.
Enjoy fun literacy, math, and science games and activities, pick out free books to take home for holiday reading, and join parent workshops on how to support learning at home.

Inclusive Schools Week is a disability forward event that celebrates difference and promotes sense of belonging at all of our school sites. This year's theme is "Children First: Building a Stronger Tomorrow."

From the San Francisco Health Services Agency: Starting Jan. 1, 2026, some changes are coming to Medi-Cal that will affect undocumented Californians age 19 and older.

As you begin to have winter holiday and end of semester celebrations, please keep the Wellness Policy top of mind. Celebrations can be fun and nutritious!

San Francisco CalFresh recipients received a letter from the San Francisco Health Services Agency (SFHSA) with information about a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card from GiveCard to help buy food during the government shutdown. Recipients should activate their grocery card by December 31, 2025.

The San Francisco Math Circle is hosting a math festival for 2nd-8th grade students on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 2:00-4:00pm at San Francisco State University.

Watch Ruth Asawa School of the Arts students perform classic songs and choreography from the Golden Age of Broadway on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13.

Some SFUSD families who were eligible for SUN Bucks did not receive their card in June. If your child was actively enrolled between July 1, 2024 and September 2, 2025, they may still receive their SUN Bucks card in the next mailing, expected in January or February 2026 (please note: delivery is not guaranteed).

SFUSD's Mātua Advisory Council (MAC) invites you to join them at their next in-person meeting on Dec. 10, 2025.

The Enrollment Center at 555 Franklin Street will be closed for in-person services on Wednesday, Nov. 26 with phone and email support remaining open. The center's offices, phone, and email will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28. Normal operations will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.

Updated Nov. 25: SFUSD schools will be closed Nov. 24-28 for Fall Break, but some PK and School Age OST programs are open on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. SFUSD offices, including Human Resources and the Enrollment Center, will be closed Nov. 26, 27, and 28.

9th grade students and families! Join us virtually on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to learn about opportunities and resources available to 9th graders as they begin their high school experience, including graduation requirements and college and career planning resources.

The weekly Family Announcements Bulletin (FAB) will be on Fall Break next week and will not be sent to families on Thursday, Nov. 27. FAB will resume distribution on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2025.

SFUSD is committed to strong family–school partnerships. Each year, districts must share the Board Policy on Parent Engagement (BP 6020) and the Administrative Regulation (AR 6020), which outline how families are informed of their rights and how they can participate in decision-making, support learning at home, and engage in school and district activities.

The SFUSD Wellness & Health Education Action Team is hosting a series of webinars for parents/guardians/caregivers to address important issues and topics facing our students and families.

The Cow Palace is hosting a creative competition to celebrate the birthday of Dr. King with a focus on “speaking out” and encouraging youth to share their voice respectfully and effectively. Deadline to enter: Jan. 23, 2026 at 6 p.m.
