Students age 17 and under affected by the current teachers' strike are welcome to visit SF Zoo for free on weekdays starting Friday, Feb. 13 until further notice. Students age 14 and under will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Superintendent Su and the SFUSD bargaining team met with UESF at 2:00 pm on Feb. 8 to try to reach an agreement. SFUSD remains ready to work on reaching a full agreement with UESF, and is prepared to return to the bargaining table Sunday, Feb. 8.

Originally posted on Jan. 29, 2026: On Jan. 27, 2026, the SF Board of Education approved the academic calendars for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years.

All SFUSD schools will be closed to students on Monday, February 9. Labor negotiations will continue over the weekend and we hope that a strike can be avoided. We are working with urgency to reach a resolution that supports our educators while protecting the educational and safety needs of our students.

We are aware of a planned day of action that asks students to participate in a walkout on Friday, Jan. 30. This action relates to recent immigration developments in Minnesota. All SFUSD schools will be open. This message contains important information to help families, students, and staff understand district expectations, student rights, and safety procedures.

The deadline for receiving online enrollment applications is 11:59 p.m. this Friday, Jan. 30, 2025. If you are completing a paper application, you can also drop it off on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 555 Franklin St. (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) if needed. Even though Jan. 31 falls after the Enrollment Application Deadline, any paper applications that we receive while the office is open that day will be counted as submitted on time.
