Applicants must complete ALL parts of this 3-PART Process to be considered for placement, 2027-28 school year.

• APPLY  to the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) Online Enrollment Application - Deadline: December 11, 2026.   Applicants submit an SFUSD Online Application, www.sfusd.edu/enroll - select Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in your preference order.
• AUDITION ASSIGNMENT - required for all students applying to Asawa SOTA.  Assignments are preparation for the required audition.  
  • The following departments have a December 11, deadline to UPLOAD audition assignments.  ALL OTHER DEPARTMENTS learn, practice, and perform the audition assignments on audition day.

    • Media + Film

Students who apply to Ruth Asawa SOTA must live in San Francisco with a parent/legal guardian at the time of application, and continue to live in San Francisco while attending Asawa SOTA. Inter-district permits are not allowed for admission.
