Originally posted on April 20: Caltrans will be closing large portions of 19th Avenue on three separate weekends starting Friday, April 24. Closures begin at 7 a.m. on Fridays, which may impact school drop-off and pickup traffic, in addition to weekend travel. Students, families, and staff should expect major delays and detours, and plan for significantly increased travel time, especially for school commutes, activities, and weekend events.

California state law has updated the Caregiver Affidavit form, used to assign a temporary caregiver for limited school and medical purposes, and has updated guidance for schools in the case of unplanned familial separation. Families are encouraged to update their own contact information as well emergency contacts at their school site or via ParentVUE.
