Summer Professional Development and Institutes

Buyback Day 2024

Overview

What is Central Buyback Day?

  • A full day of virtual and in person professional development sessions for all new and returning certificated staff (TK-12) on Aug. 14th.
  • The PreK professional development sessions will be held on August 15th ( the first day back for permitted teachers).
  • Organized by grade band/level for elementary, and by content area for secondary
  • A blend of professional learning sessions and open office hours

Why do we hold a Central Buyback Day?

  • Instructional coherence is built when all educators are collectively onboarded to district priorities and systems.
  • Ensuring that all educators are oriented to instructional resources supports high quality implementation.

What outcomes should participants experience?

  • Essential Content - Educators will know the priority standards for their grade level and content area.
  • Academic Ownership - Educators will learn instructional strategies for ensuring students are doing the thinking in the classroom.

Who can I reach out to for help and support?

  • For questions, please contact Devin Krugman (krugmand@sfusd.edu), Executive Director of Content Teams
  • From 9:00am - 3:30pm please visit the Help Desk for support accessing sessions and materials.

Special Education (PK - 12+)
