DRDP Overview
The DRDP is an assessment instrument developed by the California Department of Education for children and their families. The DRDP is designed for teachers to observe, document, and reflect on the learning, development, and progress of all children. The assessment results are intended to be used by the teacher to plan curriculum for individual children and groups of children, and to guide continuous program improvement.
NEW for the 2026-27 School Year: Pre-K, TK, Infant & Toddler students will be assessed using the updated DRDP 2025 PTK & IT Instruments.

California Pre-K/TK Learning Foundations
The foundations were revised using an inclusive and deliberative input process, including statewide educator focus groups, interest holder input sessions, and review by subject matter experts.
