SFUSD's Recent Bond Programs

Planning for a 2024 Bond
Our Bond Program helps SFUSD maintain safe and sustainable schools. SFUSD will pursue our next General Obligation bond to help fund modernization projects for SF public schools in 2024. Before putting the Bond on the ballot, we will complete a thorough capital condition assessment of buildings and sites; update the SFUSD capital plan; and solicit and incorporate feedback from the community.

What's Next?
- Seek Board of Education approval for audits. All expenditures to date have been consistent with our voter mandate and accepted accounting practices for general obligation bond funds.
- Complete capital condition assessment of SFUSD sites by summer 2022. The condition assessment will allow us to determine -- quantitatively -- which sites need the most improvement.

- Update the Capital Plan. Assessment data will be shared with the Board and SFUSD stakeholders; feedback on priorities will be incorporated into an updated 10-year Capital Plan.
- Engage stakeholders on Bond Planning priorities, with the Capital Plan as our overall policy framework, on the content of a 2024 Bond proposal.
Public Oversight
