3 | In Support of the Achievement and Success of All African American Students: Mastering Cultural Identity and AAPACs | Bobby Pope Glenn Bell Laticia Erving, Mauricha Robinson, African American Achievement and Leadership Initiative | Site Leaders will engage with the AAALI team to deepen their understanding and skills in two key areas: 1) Building and Sustaining Partnerships with Black Families: Learn how to establish and maintain effective partnerships through site-based African American Parent Advisory Councils (AAPACs). 2) Creating Safe and Affirming Learning Spaces for Black Students: Explore strategies for fostering supportive environments via Mastering Cultural Identity courses, focusing on pedagogy, purpose, and shared expectations. | ||
5 | Expanded Learning: ExCEL After School & Summer Programs | Abbie Ridenour & Karina Henriquez, Student & Family Services Division | Highly recommended for new site leaders, though all are welcome to join us to learn more about funding and leadership practices to ensure high quality after school and summer programs. The session is primarily focused on TK-8th grade school sites, as the requirements for Expanded Learning programs have been updated over the past two years. 7 | How Central Office Staff supports school sites during an Emergency: Virtual Emergency Operations Center, Joint Information Centers and Crisis Communications. | Greg Markwith Laura Dudnick, Wilson Chu, Facilities & Operations Division | Emergency Operations Centers (E.O.C.s) & Joint Information Centers (J.I.C.s) are used to organize Central Office resources in response to and in support of, an incident at district sites. The E.O.C. is set up virtually using g-chat and adheres to specific protocols at the direction of an E.O.C. Director, who is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate resources are deployed to sites as quickly, and effectively as possible. | ||

Participants will gain insights into the roles of administrators and classroom teachers, as well as the supports offered by the Central Office.
