The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is launching its enrollment season for the 2023-24 school year by hosting enrollment fairs and workshops for families who wish to enroll their child(ren) in PreKindergarten (PK), Transitional Kindergarten (TK), kindergarten, middle school, or high school for the coming school year.

As part of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD)’s commitment to increase education and awareness about the reporting processes for sexual harassment and assault, Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne announced the district’s intention to implement revisions to district policies based on new federal Title IX regulations which are anticipated to be in place in time for the 2023-2024 school year.

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne announced that 619 graduates from the class of 2022 (16% of graduates) have earned the California State Seal of Biliteracy, recognizing high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing one or more languages in addition to English.

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, San Francisco Board of Education commissioners unanimously approved updates to the Board Rules and Operating Procedures designed to focus more of its time on student outcomes. The Board of Education aims to increase transparency in its work as part of its long-term plan to improve its governance practices.

After taking the helm of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) in July 2022, Superintendent Dr. Matt Wayne will engage in a listening tour to meet the SFUSD community; listen to their experiences, needs, feedback, input and questions; and understand SFUSD’s strengths and needs.

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) will continue to offer all students free school meals in the 2022-23 school year under the California Meals for All Act.
