The SFUSD Student Health Advisory Board is introducing the 2025 Anti-Tobacco/Vaping Art and Video Contest “Don’t Get Cuffed for Puffs.” Students can win up to $200 in prizes for their original creations, and their work will be displayed on SF Muni. Deadline to submit art: March 26.

Synergy will be offline on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6 p.m. to Thursday, Feb. 27 at 2 a.m. for regularly scheduled monthly maintenance. Staff, parents and students will not be able to access Synergy, ParentVUE and StudentVUE during this maintenance window. 

Posted on Feb. 18, 2025: The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is not proposing cuts to the school crossing guard program, and the SFMTA Board of Directors did not take action on this today (Feb. 18, 2025). The SFMTA has assured us that they would identify alternative funding to keep the crossing guard program going if their budget crisis were to impact the program.

The Cash for College event for current SFUSD seniors is this Saturday, Feb. 22 at John O'Connell High School. Neither pre-registration nor sign-up is required, but students/families should bring a number of recommended materials to the event as outlined in this announcement. Chinese and Spanish interpretation will be available.

The San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking (SFCAHT) is excited to offer to students and teachers this fantastic opportunity at the intersection of social justice and arts! Deadline to apply: Next Monday, Feb. 24 at 5 p.m.

While it is not yet clear how or when developments at the federal level might inform things here in SFUSD, commitment to our core values will not change.

SFUSD is considering making some changes to our TK program to increase access and continuity for families. We will be hosting in person and virtual community engagement sessions in February where families can learn more and give feedback.

Paid mentor and internship program offered by the Port of San Francisco. Rising TIDES an acronym for Rising Through Investment, Engagement and Support is an internship and mentorship program for San Francisco residents aged 15-25. 

SMART is as 12-year college access program that starts in the 4th grade and goes all the way through college. Applications are open now for 4th grade students. The application deadline is April 10th.
