Proposed 2024 School Bond

Proposed 2024 Bond Measure

The 2024 Bond proposal pursues major renovations and targeted facility upgrades, resetting the clock on some of SFUSD’s major facility issues. The proposal also invests in healthy meals for students, technology and network improvements, outdoor learning spaces, and safe school buildings. Aligned closely with the 2023 Facilities Master Plan, the proposed program moves SFUSD’s needle toward the “schools we want” – schools which invite students into safe, modern, and comfortable spaces where they feel valued and respected.

2024 Bond Measure Resolution Schedule

At the September 12 Board of Education meeting, the Facilities Department introduced a proposed school bond measure for discussion only. The bond is proposed to be placed before voters on the November 5, 2024 ballot. At the September 12 meeting, Facilities staff discussed the draft ballot measure and how the proposed bond program implements the 2023 Facilities Master Plan.

Following a stakeholder engagement process , SFUSD will return to the Board of Education in summer/fall 2024 to recommend adoption of the Bond Measure Resolution for filing with the SF Department of Elections.
