The San Francisco Board of Education voted 6-1 to appoint Dr. Maria Su as the next superintendent of the San Francisco Unified School District on Oct. 22, 2024.

The Board of Education of the San Francisco Unified School District and Dr. Matt Wayne have agreed that effective October 18, 2024, Dr. Wayne will no longer serve as Superintendent.

The California Department of Education (CDE) today released the results of the 2023-24 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. In 2024 the San Francisco Unified School District’s (SFUSD) ELA and math proficiency rates continued to be higher than the state, which has been the case since 2016.
