The San Francisco Board of Education approved a plan to offer Algebra 1 in eighth grade in SFUSD beginning in the 2024-25 school year at its regular meeting Tuesday.
San Francisco Board of Education President Lainie Motamedi announced that the Board will introduce a resolution at its Feb. 13, 2024 Regular Meeting affirming the Board’s intent to transition from at-large to by-trustee area elections.
SFUSD and Spark* SF Public Schools announced the release of its Fiscal Year 2023 Annual Report, reporting a total of over $123 million invested into the district’s highest priority initiatives and programs since it was established in 2015.
After over 45 years of compliance with the federal mandate that SFUSD provide services for multilingual learners, the district was released from its Court-supervised obligations in June 2019, and reaffirmed its investment in a comprehensive system of support for multilingual learners.

During Inclusive Schools Week, SFUSD schools will implement discussions and activities that promote inclusion and ability awareness including read alouds, classroom presentations, art projects, and Special Olympics of Northern California will be hosting Athlete assemblies.
