IEP Resources

The Individual Education Program (IEP) is developed by a team that includes the parent/guardian, SFUSD evaluators, other professionals working with the child, current teacher, translator as needed and any other representatives the family or district feels would be supportive in developing the program.  Here you will find resources to support IEPs before and during the meeting as well as links for IEP topics.

Goals and objectives

Overview: The IEP outlines specific goals and objectives tailored to the individual student's need and is designed to address the student's unique challenges as well as facilitate their educational progress. Goals are overarching statements that highlight the major areas of improvement for the student over the course of the school year, while short-term objectives break down the long-term goals into smaller, more manageable steps.
