What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
Behavior Intervention Services (BIS) in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) provides individualized behavior support to Early Childhood Special Education students using evidence-based methods and Applied Behavior Analysis. The program includes services delivered during school hours or before/after school, based on students' IEP goals and unique needs. The BIS team comprises Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians, and Behavior Paraeducators who collaborate to create and implement tailored behavior intervention plans, monitor progress, and ensure best practices. The goal is to help students meet their IEP objectives through personalized instruction in various settings.
