Advanced Placement (AP) in SFUSD Link to this section
Advanced Placement (AP) courses give students the opportunity to take college-level classes while still in high school. AP courses are rigorous and can help students build strong academic skills, explore subjects they are interested in, and prepare for success in college.
Students who take an AP course can also take the corresponding AP exam. Depending on their exam score and the college they attend, students may be able to earn college credit or placement into more advanced college courses.
SFUSD offers 30+ AP courses across multiple high schools throughout San Francisco, with options in subjects including English, math, science, social studies, world languages, computer science, and the arts.
