Highlights Nov. 5-9, 2018: High school poll workers gain experience on Election Day, Student dance showcase promotes visual and performing arts

Highlights

In an effort to promote civic engagement, the Department of Elections offers a High School Poll Worker Program in which 500 SFUSD students serve San Francisco voters on Election Day at neighborhood polling places throughout the City. Students learn about the election process and gain valuable volunteer experience for their resumes for college applications.

WHEN: Tuesday, November 6 / 2 - 4 p.m.

WHERE: San Francisco City Hall / 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Pl, Room 48

The 1st Annual Dance Showcase hosted by SFUSD’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will celebrate TK to 12th grade dance programs. When studying dance, students learn discipline, persistence and self-expression. Dance serves as a way of coming together and sharing a communal experience. 150 first through 12th grade students from schools throughout SFUSD will participate in cultural, contemporary and modern dances.
