The Camp Fire has caused smoky skies throughout the Bay Area for days, and Burton High School Academy of Health Sciences students are taking it upon themselves to find out just what’s in the air.

The California Department of Education (CDE) has released the results of the 2018 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. Last spring, more than 28,000 SFUSD students in grades 3 to 8 and 11 took these state assessments.
