ELPAC Meetings
Phase I of Initial ELPAC State Testing Fall 2023: Test Coordinator Meeting (Mandatory)
- August 8: 9:00am-11:00am
- August 11: 10:30am-12:30pm
*Makeup TC meeting: Mandatory for Test Coordinators who were unable to attend live meetings.
Note: Training for Initial ELPAC (below) is required each year for qualification to administer the group testing domains. The State (CDE) does not accept prior a year's training/s for qualification to administer. Further certification is required for 1:1 testing (Typically done by Examiners and Phase II Designees).

2. Confirm that you Viewed the make up meeting. Use the Google form link in the TC training slide deck (slide 35)
3. If others on site will administer Initial ELPAC: Use the Training deck linked in the TC training deck to train staff who will administer the test. Save your sign in sheet and agenda to return in your accountability envelope at the end of the year. Alternatively, submit them in this Google form.
* After you attend and have signed in, you are qualified to administer and to train others to administer group sections of the Initial ELPAC test at your site during the 2023-24 school year.
Phase II of Initial ELPAC State Testing: Oct. 30, 2023 - June 4, 2024

Because students enroll throughout the year, we continuously need to test those who are assigned Initial ELPAC

During the above window, schools will continue to test new students in Initial ELPAC group domains. (3-12 Listening, Reading, Writing)

Non-newcomer sites will assign a Phase II Initial ELPAC Designee who will certify to administer the 1:1 domains in addition to completing the group testing. Training for both group and 1:1 are required for this role. There is a stipend available for the 1:1 certification depending on the training grade span needed.

Newcomer schools will receive support from RPA/AAO with 1:1 domain administration.
Who may administer the ELPAC?
ELPAC assessments may only be administered by staff who:
- Are employees of SFUSD and are proficient in English
- Have received 2023-24 ELPAC Administration Training from Achievement Assessments Office or the school's test coordinator. (Initial and Summative ELPAC are comprised of two separate trainings. One does not count for the other.)l
- Signed a Test Security Affidavit
- Note: Previous year's training for any state test is not applicable to the current school year.
- Test Coordinators must be trained during the August (Initial ELPAC) AND January (Summative) Test Coordinator meetings. They are then qualified to administer and/or train any additional staff on site who will administer the Initial or Summative ELPAC during the current school year.
