Phase II of Initial ELPAC State Testing:  Oct. 30, 2023 - June 4, 2024

  • Because students enroll throughout the year, we continuously need to test those who are assigned Initial ELPAC

  • During the above window, schools will continue to test new students in Initial ELPAC group domains. (3-12 Listening, Reading, Writing)

  • Non-newcomer sites will assign a Phase II Initial ELPAC Designee who will certify to administer the 1:1 domains in addition to completing the group testing. Training for both group and 1:1 are required for this role. There is a stipend available for the 1:1 certification depending on the training grade span needed.

  • Newcomer schools will receive support from RPA/AAO with 1:1 domain administration.

Who may administer the ELPAC?

ELPAC assessments may only be administered by staff who:

  • Are employees of SFUSD and are proficient in English
  • Have received 2023-24 ELPAC Administration Training from Achievement Assessments Office or the school's test coordinator. (Initial and Summative ELPAC are comprised of two separate trainings. One does not count for the other.)l
  • Signed a Test Security Affidavit
  • Note: Previous year's training for any state test is not applicable to the current school year.
  • Test Coordinators must be trained during the August (Initial ELPAC) AND January (Summative) Test Coordinator meetings. They are then qualified to administer and/or train any additional staff on site who will administer the Initial or Summative ELPAC during the current school year.
