
SFUSD Core Suite of Apps
The following apps are part of SFUSD's Core Suite . Licenses have been purchased centrally for the 2023-2024 school year for Zoom, Seesaw, Google Enterprise, Dreambox, Typing Club (Grades 2-12) and Newsela (Grades 2-12).

Google Classroom
Teachers can post assignments and resources, collect work, facilitate collaboration, & provide feedback. Classroom is SFUSD's official Learning Management System (LMS) for grades 3-12

Google Suite
The Google Suite supports student communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking with apps like Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Drawing, and more!

Seesaw
Teachers can post activities and provide feedback. Students can respond using text, drawing, video, voice, etc. Seesaw is SFUSD’s official Learning Management System (LMS) for grades PK-2. Pro-licenses purchased for 2022-23.

- free apps that have been approved such as Adobe Express, Edpuzzle, Kahoot, Padlet
- apps approved for school sites to purchase such as Nearpod, IXL, MyOn, and others

Data Privacy at SFUSD
Apps that are not on the approved app list should not be used to protect student privacy as per board policy.

SFUSD takes student data privacy and is in compliance with regard to state and federal requirements including COPPA, CIPA, FERPA, and SOPIPA with our district-approved online applications. Learn more about Data Privacy in SFUSD.
Reviewed but not approved
The Legal, Technology, and Curriculum & Instruction Departments have strict requirements for student data privacy and curriculum compliance. We are also subject to various Federal and State laws, and Board of Education policies. Because of these requirements, we ask that you ONLY use the approved applications listed above. This list is only here to communicate that these apps are frequently requested, but have not met our requirements. Please help us protect student privacy by not using these apps, or any other unapproved app:
