    Student and Family Handbook

    The Student and Family Handbook is a resource for all SFUSD stakeholders.  We provide this Handbook as a way to work in partnership, to support students and families to understand the rights that you have in the district. It is also a place where the district outlines our expectations for students and families.   

    The online Student and Family Handbook is updated for the 2026-2027 school year.

    Please note that the Early Education program has a separate Early Education Department Family Handbook.

    The PDF version of the Student and Family Handbook is now available for the 2026-2027 school year.

    State law and Board Policy may change over the school year. The online version of the Handbook is updated more frequently than the print version, to reflect SFUSD policy and protocols.
